Installation Note 37633: 'register_stagedds_and_dds.sas failed' during SAS® Performance Management Solutions migration from 32-bit to 64-bit operating system

During a migration of a SAS Performance Management Solutions product (SAS Financial Management release 4.4.1, SAS Human Capital Management 4.4.1 , SAS Strategy Management 2.4.1) from a 32-bit operating system to release 5.1 on 64-bit, the installer will generate failures related to the 32-bit to 64-bit conversion with the message
<drive>:\SAS\Config\Lev1\Applications\SASSolutionsServices5.1\SASCode\register_stagedds_and_dds.sas failedTo circumvent this problem, the three attached macro files will need to be replaced before running the migration procedure. Apply the replacement files as follows:
- migr8dds.sas to \Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2\soltnsdata\sasmacro
- migr8stg.sas to \Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2\soltnsdata\sasmacro
- migr8hcm.sas to \Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2\hrds\sasmacro
Please note that this needs to be done in two steps for a migration.
- First, in the software deployment wizard (SDW), you need to do the install of the software (deselect the configuration step).
- When that's complete, copy the replacement macros into the image. Then, run the SDW again and do the configuration of the software.
